The Toyota Avalon was first launched in 1994 by the Toyota group and the production of this variant has been continued till date. The Toyota Avalon is also called as Toyota Pronard in Japan.

The Avalon was released as a predecessor to the Vienta and the Cressida models, while the successor of Avalon is Toyota Aurion.

The vehicle falls under the category of full sized cars, and is built on four door sedan body style design and FF layout.

The first Avalon model was rolled off in Georgetown, Kentucky on 21st February, 1994 as the model vehicle for the year 2005.

The second generation Avalon was launched only in Japan and in United States in the model year 1999.

The third generation Toyota Avalon was the first car to include the facility of non touch screen navigation system. The model filled the gap left by Toyota Cressida in 1992, where the model was a top end mid sized rear wheel drive model equipped with the straight-V6 engine, whereas the Avalon came with the front wheel drive with V6 engine.

Toyota Avalon First generation (1995-1999)

The first generation models were produced during the period 1995 to 1999 at the Georgetown, Kentucky in United States. These models came with the 3.0 liter 1MZ-FE V6 engine equipped in them, along with the four speed A541E automatic transmission.



The 1st generation Avalon came with the wheel-base of 2720 mm and had the length, width and height of 4831 mm, 1786 mm and 1420 mm respectively. The model had the fuel capacity of 18.5 US gallons, and it was built based on the Camry platform that produced 140 kilo watts of power and torque of 210 lb-ft.

Second Generation (2000-2004)

The Avalon produced in second generation, also called as Toyota Pronard was assembled at Georgetown, Kentucky in United States. The vehicle came with the 3.0 liter 1MZ-FE VVT-I V6 engine and was mated with the four speed automatic transmission. It was offered fuel capacity of 18.5 US gallons, while the engine in the car produced 157 kilo watts of power and torque of 220 lb-ft.



The Avalon model was offered in two different trim levels like the upscale XLS and the basic XL versions.

The standard features provided in the vehicle include -

The third generation model was released in the model year 2005 and is provided with the 3.5 liter 2GR-FE Dual VVT-I V6 engine. The model is offered in two transmissions - the 6-speed automatic and the five speed automatic transmissions and has the fuel capacity of 18.5 US gallons.
